Azerbaijan e-Visa for Indians (ASAN Visa)

Indians can get an Azerbaijan e-visa online at evisa.gov.az in about 3 working days. Fees, rules, and a 5-day Baku plan.

Indians can get an Azerbaijan tourist e-visa online through the ASAN Visa system at evisa.gov.az. The standard e-visa costs about US$26 and is usually issued within 3 working days; an urgent option costs more and comes faster. It's a single-entry visa that allows a stay of up to 30 days. You print the PDF and show it at immigration in Baku. Only use the official .gov.az site; several private sites charge two or three times as much for the same visa.

E-visa options (approximate)

Option Fee Processing
Standard About US$26 Within about 3 working days
Urgent About US$60 Within about 3 hours on working days

Fees and timings are set by the ASAN system and can change; check evisa.gov.az when you apply.

How to apply

  1. Open evisa.gov.az and choose "Apply for e-Visa".
  2. Select India as nationality and your planned arrival date (the visa is valid for a window around it).
  3. Enter passport details and your hotel address in Azerbaijan, and upload a passport scan.
  4. Pay by card.
  5. Download the e-visa from the link in the email. Print a copy.

Requirements

  • Passport valid for at least 3 months beyond the e-visa's expiry.
  • A hotel booking or host address.
  • Return or onward ticket, in case immigration asks.
  • If you stay more than 15 days, you must register your stay. Hotels usually do it for you; check if you're in a private flat.

Trip planning for Indians

Baku has become a popular short trip from India because of the e-visa, direct or one-stop flights from Delhi and Mumbai, and cool weather from October to April. Four or five days covers Baku's Old City, the Flame Towers, the Heydar Aliyev Center, a day trip to Gobustan's rock carvings and mud volcanoes, and the fire temple at Ateshgah, which has inscriptions left by Indian traders centuries ago. Add two days in Gabala or Sheki for the mountains.

Many Indians combine Azerbaijan with Georgia. That needs a separate Georgian visa or e-visa; check Georgia's official e-visa portal.

FAQ

Is visa on arrival available for Indians in Azerbaijan?

No, Indians should get the e-visa before flying. Airlines check it at check-in.

Can I enter Azerbaijan by land on the e-visa?

Land borders have opened and closed at different times in recent years. If you plan to cross from Georgia by road, check the current status before booking; flying into Baku is the reliable option.

How much does a Baku trip cost?

For 4–5 days, about ₹55,000–90,000 per person including flights, visa and a mid-range hotel, depending on the season.
