Bali Trip Cost from India for 6 Days

Six days in Bali costs about ₹60,000–1 lakh per person mid-range. Flights, the visa and levy, villas, drivers and Nusa Penida, with a sample plan.

Six days in Bali from India cost about ₹60,000–1 lakh per person for a mid-range trip, sharing a room or villa between two. Backpackers manage ₹45,000–55,000 with homestays and scooters. A private pool villa in Seminyak or Uluwatu, or a honeymoon resort, can push it to ₹1.5–2.5 lakh. Flights from India are the biggest single cost because most routes connect through Singapore, Kuala Lumpur or Bangkok.

Cost per person for 6 days (approximate)

Item Budget Mid-range Comfort
Return flights to Denpasar ₹25,000–32,000 ₹30,000–45,000 ₹45,000–70,000

Stays, 5 nights, twin-share ₹6,000–10,000 ₹15,000–30,000 ₹50,000–1,00,000
Driver or scooter ₹2,000–3,000 ₹5,000–8,000 ₹8,000–12,000

Total ₹45,000–55,000 ₹60,000–1 lakh ₹1.5–2.5 lakh

Ranges are estimates. July, August and the Christmas weeks are the busiest and most expensive; April to June and September are a good balance of weather and price.

Entry costs

Indians pay for a visa on arrival (or the e-VOA online before flying), about IDR 500,000 per person. Since February 2024 Bali also charges a one-time tourist levy of about IDR 150,000, paid online or at the airport. Check Indonesian Immigration's official e-visa site and the Bali levy site for current amounts before you go.

Where people overspend

Hiring a car with driver for every day adds up. A driver costs roughly the same per day whether you use him for two hours or ten, so group the long trips (Ubud rice terraces, the north, Uluwatu sunset) into two or three full days and walk or use Grab or Gojek the rest of the time.

Seminyak and Canggu villas look cheap per night, but cleaning fees and taxes are added at checkout. Compare the final price.

Nusa Penida tours sold in Seminyak include the fast boat, a driver on the island and lunch. Booking the boat and a driver yourself is cheaper but takes more effort; the roads on Penida are rough, so a driver is worth it.

A sample 6-day plan

  1. Day 1, arrive and stay in Seminyak or Canggu. Sunset on the beach.
  2. Day 2, Uluwatu temple and the Kecak dance at sunset.
  3. Day 3, move to Ubud. Monkey Forest and the market.
  4. Day 4, Tegallalang rice terraces, Tirta Empul, a coffee plantation.
  5. Day 5, Nusa Penida day trip.
  6. Day 6, fly home.

FAQ

Can I do Bali for ₹50,000?

Yes, if you find a return flight around ₹28,000, stay in homestays and ride a scooter. It's harder in July and August.

Is Bali cheaper than Thailand?

On the ground they're similar. Bali usually works out a little more expensive because flights from India are longer and pricier and there's a visa fee.

How much cash should I carry?

Card payments work in most hotels and cafés, but warungs, temple entry and small shops want rupiah. Withdraw from bank ATMs inside banks or malls, and count notes carefully at money changers.
