How to read a day in Sancharees

A guide to the Sancharees day view: the timeline from last night's hotel to tonight's check-in, travel legs and how to change them, a map that follows the day, Route playback, Route video, the Today card, Packed-day warnings and the PDF.
Every day of a trip in Sancharees reads as one timeline, top to bottom, the way you'll actually live it. You start where you slept, check out, see the sights, get to the airport, fly, land, and end the evening at tonight's hotel. Here's what each part means and what you can change.
The day timeline, top to bottom
Open a trip and pick a day. Stops, bookings and travel legs hang off a single dotted rail, in this order:
- Day starts from {hotel} · Check out {time}. The day opens at the hotel you slept in the night before, with its check-out time on the morning you leave.
- Other bookings for the day, such as a rental car pick-up or a document you pinned to that date.
- Stops before the flight, numbered in order, each with its own card.
- The ride to the airport, shown just above the flight, for example "1 hr 31 min · 62 km to SAI", measured from your last stop or from last night's hotel.
- The flight (or train, bus or ferry) with its times above the card, like "6:40 AM–2:15 PM". Times are on each airport's own clock, as printed on your ticket.
- Arrival airport → hotel. When you land near tonight's hotel, a leg from the airport to the hotel appears under the flight.
- Stops at the arrival, if you've planned any. On a travel day with nothing yet it says "No places yet for this afternoon / evening".
- Tonight · Check in {time} closes the day at the hotel you're sleeping in.
A hotel isn't repeated as a separate card. Tap Show details under its check-out or check-in row to see the booking: dates, cost, confirmation, notes, attached PDFs and Edit. The day header sums it up: number of stops plus the day's total travel time and distance.
Travel legs: how you get from A to B
Between every two points on the timeline there's a travel leg showing duration, distance and a Directions to {name} link that opens Google Maps. The first leg of the morning reads "from {hotel}", and the last one in the evening "to {hotel}".
Cab is the default. If you never picked a mode for a leg, Sancharees treats it as a cab, including airport transfers and the ride back to the hotel. On a day when you have a rental car or campervan it's a drive instead. A mode you chose yourself is always kept.
To change a leg:
- Tap the mode icon on the leg. The Transportation mode sheet opens with an estimate for each option: driving, walking, cycling, bus, cab, train, ferry and flight.
- Pick a mode, or choose Hide directions if you don't need that leg shown.
- To switch every leg at once, use Change default for all places.
Rail and straight-line numbers are estimates and are marked est. If you know the real timetable time, open the stop and fill in Transit time (min). That number wins over any router estimate and is counted in the day total. Leave it blank to hand the leg back to the routers.
The map follows the day
The map opens on the whole trip, every route in full colour. As soon as you move to a day, the camera follows: a gentle glide for a neighbouring day, a single smooth move for something nearby, and a fly only when the next city is far away. The other days fade back so the current one stands out.
Click a stop in the itinerary and the map goes straight to it, even if it's on another day. Each day header also has Open in Google Maps for the whole day's route.
Route playback and Route video
Press Play on the map to watch a vehicle drive your route stop by stop. Days play in date order: the ride to the airport, the flight, the drive out of the arrival airport, then the sightseeing.
For something to share, open the map's download button and choose Route video. Sancharees records a 10–30 second clip of your trip drawing itself in day colours, flights dashed, with the trip title and "Day N · date" as a caption. You get an MP4 where your browser supports it, otherwise WebM, and on a phone the share sheet opens so you can send it straight on. The same menu has Map image (PNG) and Export to Google Maps.
The Today card
While a trip is happening, a Today card sits at the top of Overview (and at the top of the Itinerary tab on your phone). It shows Day N, today's stops in order and today's bookings. Open today jumps to the day, and Directions opens Google Maps with a route through today's hotel and stops. The card only appears on the trip's dates.
Packed-day warning
It's easy to plan more than a day can hold. Sancharees adds up ground and water travel plus about 45 minutes per stop, and flags the day when that goes past 12 hours, for example "Packed day: about 12.5 h (5 hr 37 min travel + 9 stops)". A day with more than 7 hours on the road alone gets "Long travel day". Flights aren't counted, and opening hours aren't checked.
Take it with you: the PDF
Choose Export PDF in the trip toolbar (on a phone, it's Download PDF in Settings). You get a travel-journal style itinerary: a cover with your title, dates, map and an At a glance table; Booked travel and Where you stay tables with local times, references and costs; then the trip city by city, each day as the same timeline you see in the app, with each flight marked CONFIRMED or NOT CONFIRMED and your day notes alongside.

Head to your trips, pick a travel day with a flight, and follow it from check-out to check-in.
