Dubai visa price for Indians
By Ganesh ·
How much a Dubai (UAE) tourist visa costs for Indians. 30-Day, 60-day and multiple-entry prices, visa on arrival with a US/UK/EU visa, where to apply, documents and timing.
The short answer: most Indians need a UAE tourist visa before flying to Dubai. A 30-day single-entry tourist visa bought through an airline or a registered travel agent usually costs roughly ₹6,000–₹9,000 all-in, and a 60-day or multiple-entry visa costs more. If you already hold a valid US visa or green card, or a UK or EU residence permit, you may qualify for a visa on arrival instead. The official sources are the UAE's Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (icp.gov.ae) and Dubai's GDRFA (gdrfad.gov.ae).
Visa fees and eligibility rules are set by the UAE government and change from time to time, and agents add their own service charges. The prices below are approximate. Check the official page or your airline for the current fee before paying.
Which Dubai visa do you need?
- 30-day tourist visa (single entry): the usual choice for a holiday of a week or two.
- 60-day tourist visa (single entry): for longer family visits.
- Multiple-entry tourist visa: useful if you will leave the UAE and come back (for example a side trip to Oman) within the validity.
- Transit visa (48 or 96 hours): for long layovers, usually arranged through your airline.
- Visa on arrival (14 days, extendable once): for Indian passport holders who also hold a valid US visa or green card, or a residence permit of the UK or an EU country. The eligible list has been widened over time to include visas or residence permits of some other countries. Check the current list on icp.gov.ae before relying on it.
What a Dubai visa costs for Indians (approximate)
| Visa | Typical price through airlines / agents |
|---|---|
| 30-day single entry | ₹6,000–₹9,000 |
| 60-day single entry | ₹11,000–₹15,000 |
| 30-day multiple entry | ₹14,000–₹20,000 |
| Express processing | Usually ₹2,000–₹5,000 extra |
| Visa on arrival (if eligible) | A fee in dirhams at the airport; check icp.gov.ae |
Why do quotes differ so much? The government fee is fixed, but agents add a service charge, some include insurance, and some quote "visa + OK to board" while others don't. Compare the total, and ask whether a refundable security deposit is included.
Where to apply
- Through your airline: Emirates, flydubai, Air Arabia and some Indian carriers sell UAE visas to passengers with a confirmed booking. This is often the simplest route.
- Through a registered travel agent or tour operator in India or the UAE.
- Through a UAE sponsor: a relative or friend living in the UAE, or a hotel, can sponsor your visa.
- Directly on the official portals (ICP smart services or GDRFA) where your category allows it.
Avoid websites that only look official. If the address isn't icp.gov.ae, gdrfad.gov.ae or your airline's own site, you are dealing with an agent, fine, but compare their price.
Documents you'll need
- Passport valid for at least six months from the date you enter the UAE.
- A recent passport-size photo on a white background (digital copy).
- Confirmed return or onward flight ticket.
- Hotel booking or the address of the person you'll stay with.
- Sometimes: a recent bank statement, PAN card or proof of employment, especially for first-time travellers or solo travellers.
How long it takes
Tourist visas bought through airlines and agents are usually processed in a few working days, and express options exist. Processing can be slower before Diwali, Christmas and New Year, when demand peaks. Searches for Dubai visas from India usually peak in November, December and January. Apply at least two weeks before you fly, and don't book non-refundable tours until the visa is issued.
Practical tips
- Check "OK to board": some Indian airlines want a visa status update before check-in. Ask your agent whether they handle it.
- Overstay fines are steep: leave before your visa expires, or extend it in time through the official channels.
- Medicines: some common medicines are controlled in the UAE. Carry a doctor's prescription and keep medicines in their original packs.
- Keep everything in one place: forward your flight, hotel and visa emails to your Sancharees trip so the documents sit on the right day of your itinerary, even offline.
