Singapore visa for Indians
By Ganesh ·
How Indians get a Singapore e-Visa through authorised agents. Documents, the total cost, the SG Arrival Card, 96-hour visa-free transit and a 3-day plan with kids.
The short answer: Indians need a visa for Singapore, and in India you apply through an authorised visa agent. Singapore's Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) lists them on its site (ica.gov.sg), and many travel agents and some airlines are authorised. The visa is issued as an e-Visa (a PDF you print), usually within a few working days. You pay ICA's visa fee plus the agent's service charge, typically a total of roughly ₹2,500–₹4,000. Before you arrive, fill in the free SG Arrival Card online.
ICA sets the visa fee and requirements, and agents set their own charges. Check ICA's official page and ask your agent for the full price before paying. This guide is general information, not legal advice.
Step by step
- Choose an authorised visa agent from ICA's list (or ask your airline. Singapore Airlines and some others arrange visas for passengers).
- Give them your documents (list below). They submit the application online to ICA.
- Pay ICA's visa fee and the agent's service charge.
- Receive your e-Visa by email. Print it and carry it with your passport.
- Fill in the SG Arrival Card on ICA's website or the MyICA app within the three days before you arrive. It's free.
Documents (typical)
- Passport valid for at least six months from your arrival.
- Recent photo to ICA's specifications.
- Completed Form 14A (the agent usually fills it in with you).
- Flight booking and hotel booking (or the address you'll stay at).
- Sometimes: bank statements, employment letter or a cover letter, especially for first-time travellers.
Costs (approximate)
| Item | Cost |
|---|---|
| ICA visa fee | A small fee in SGD. Check ica.gov.sg |
| Agent service charge | Usually ₹1,000–₹2,500 |
| Typical total | Roughly ₹2,500–₹4,000 |
| SG Arrival Card | Free on ICA's site or app |
ICA decides the visa's validity and number of entries. Many Indian travellers receive a multiple-entry visa valid for some time; each visit is usually up to 30 days, as stamped on arrival.
Visa-free transit: the 96-hour facility
Singapore has a Visa-Free Transit Facility for some nationalities, including Indians, if you're transiting to or from certain countries and hold a valid visa for them plus a confirmed onward ticket. The conditions are specific. Check ICA's VFTF page before relying on it for a stopover.
Singapore with kids: a 3-day idea
- Day 1: Gardens by the Bay, Marina Bay, the light show in the evening.
- Day 2: Sentosa. Universal Studios or the beaches and aquarium.
- Day 3: Singapore Zoo or Night Safari, and Little India for dinner.
Build it in Sancharees and share the trip link with family, so everyone sees the plan and the hotel on the right day.
When to go
Singapore is warm all year. Indian family travel peaks in May–June and in December; book visas and hotels early for those months.
FAQ
Can Indians apply for a Singapore visa online themselves?

Do I need to print the Singapore e-Visa?
Yes, carry a printed copy with your passport; airlines may ask for it at check-in.
Is the SG Arrival Card mandatory?
Yes, for most foreign visitors. It's free on ICA's site and app, ignore sites that charge for it.
