Turn a Day on the Road into a Blog Post with Write with AI

Tell the story of your day by typing or speaking, and Write with AI turns it into a Sancharees blog post in your own voice, with spots for photos and swipeable carousels and a link to your trip map.

The best travel stories get told the same evening, over dinner or on the train home. A week later the details have gone. Write with AI on the Sancharees blog is built for that moment: tell the story of your day in a few rough sentences, typed or spoken, and get back a draft post with a title, a summary and spots for your photos, in your own voice.

Before you start: blog access

Writing on the Sancharees blog is switched on per account by an admin. If your account can write, you'll see Blog posts on your My trips page (and Blog CMS in the top bar). If you don't see it, ask the Sancharees team to enable blog writing for you. Reading the blog at sancharees.com/blog is open to everyone.

Write a post from your day

  1. Open Blog posts and click New post. The post editor opens.
  2. In the Story section, click Write with AI.
  3. Optionally pick one of your trips under Trip (optional), and then a Day (or leave it on Whole trip). When you choose a day, the AI also gets that day's stops, your notes and journal entries for them, and the day's notes, so names and places come out right.
  4. Tell the story in the box. Something as simple as "We caught the 8am ferry to Manly. The wind was wild…" is a fine start. Mention what you did, what surprised you, what you ate.
  5. Prefer to talk? Tap Tell it and speak. Your words are added to the box; tap again to stop. Dictation works in browsers that support speech recognition.
  6. Click Create post. In a few seconds the draft lands in the editor with a title, an excerpt and the story.

If the post already has text, choose where the draft goes first: Replace the story or Add to the end. Adding to the end is handy for a multi-day post: write day one, then come back and add day two.

It keeps to what you wrote

The AI is told to write in your voice and not to add events, people or feelings your story doesn't mention. It shapes your notes into readable paragraphs; it doesn't invent a sunset you didn't see. Still, read the draft through. It's your post, and you'll want to tweak a phrase or two.

Nothing is saved until you save. If you don't like the draft, change your story and create it again, or simply edit the text by hand.

Photo slots and carousels

The draft includes places for pictures where they fit the story:

  • Photo slots describe the shot that belongs there, such as the ferry deck or the market stall. Click Add photo on a slot to upload one.
  • Carousel spots hold several photos that readers swipe through. An empty carousel shows Add photos; pick a few at once. In the editor you can move a photo earlier or remove it.

If the draft has no picture spots, a carousel is added at the end so you always have somewhere to put your best shots. You can add more carousels any time with the Carousel button in the editor toolbar.

On the published post, a carousel is a swipeable row with previous and next arrows on desktop, a counter like "2 / 5", and arrow-key support. A carousel with no photos isn't shown, so a spot you didn't fill won't leave a gap.

Link your trip

When you pick a trip in Write with AI, the post links to it automatically, unless the trip is private. You can also manage links yourself under Linked trips in the editor. Readers then get a way from your story straight to the trip map, with the route and stops you wrote about.

Want readers to see the map? Make sure the trip is public or unlisted in its share settings. A private trip stays private.

Finish and publish

  1. Check the Post title and the short summary. Write with AI fills them in only when they're still empty, so it never overwrites a title you chose.
  2. Add a Cover image in the sidebar and adjust the URL slug under Publish settings if you like.
  3. Click Save draft to keep working later, or Publish to make it live. After publishing, use Preview and Copy link to share it.

Tips for a better draft

  • Give it details: times, names, the thing someone said. Specifics make the post feel like yours.
  • Pick the day from your trip so place names are spelled the way they are on your map.
  • Jot quick notes on your stops during the day. They feed the draft later.
  • Short is fine. A few honest sentences make a better post than a long list.

Start with the trip

Great posts start with a well-kept trip. Open your trips in Sancharees, add a note or two to today's stops, and tonight tell the story of the day.
