Share your trip with friends and family

How to share a Sancharees trip: choose who can see it, send a link, invite travel companions to edit, use your Friends list, let others copy your itinerary, and export a PDF, a Google Maps file or a route video.
A trip is more fun when the people coming along can see the plan, and more useful when they can help build it. Sancharees gives you several ways to share, from a read-only link for your parents to full editing for the friend booking the hotels. This guide covers each one.
Choose who can see your trip
Every trip has a visibility setting. Open the trip, click Settings and go to the Privacy tab:
- Private: only you and the people you invite can view it. This is the safe default.
- Unlisted: anyone with the direct link can view it, but it is not listed anywhere.
- Public: visible to everyone and listed on public story feeds.
Shared and public pages never show your confirmation codes, prices, passenger names or attached tickets. Booking references are removed from notes as well.
Send a share link
- Set the trip to Unlisted or Public.
- Click Share trip.
- Under Shareable link, click Copy link and paste it into a message.
Anyone who opens the link sees the trip page: the map with day-coloured routes, the day-by-day itinerary, and route playback, which drives a little vehicle along your route day by day. They do not need an account.
Invite people to plan with you
For travel companions who should see private details or help with the planning, send an invite:
- Click Share trip.
- Under Collaborators, enter their Gmail address. They sign in with Google to join.
- Choose the Access: Can edit to let them add stops and bookings, or View only.
- Click Send invite.
The same window lists Members, where you can change someone's access or remove them, and Pending invites, which you can resend or revoke. Members with edit access can forward booking emails to the trip's inbox too, so everyone's flights end up in one place.
Your Friends list
Once you have invited someone, they are added to your Friends. Next time you open Share trip on another trip, your friends appear as chips: one tap invites them with the access you have selected. They are also suggested as you type in the email field.
To manage the list, go to Settings → Account → Friends. You can add a friend ahead of time (a Gmail address, with an optional nickname), rename someone by adding the same address again with a new name, or remove them. Your Friends list is private to you.
Let others use your itinerary
When someone likes your trip, they do not have to copy it by hand. Shared and public trip pages have a Use this itinerary button. It creates a private, editable copy in their own trips, titled with your trip's name plus "(copy)".
The copy includes what the shared page shows: title, description, countries, dates, day colours, stops with their public notes, day notes and checklists, and the cover image. It does not include your bookings, expenses, photos, journal or members, so your personal details stay with you. A private trip can only be copied by someone you have sent its share link.
Export your trip
Sometimes you want the trip outside the app: printed, in Google Maps, or as a clip for social media.
PDF itinerary
In Settings → Export & Offline, click Download PDF. You get a travel-journal style itinerary: a cover with your trip and map, an At a glance table, your booked travel and stays, then each city and day as a timeline of hotels, stops and flights. It is good for printing or sending to someone who prefers paper.
Google Maps
Click the download button on the map toolbar and choose Export to Google Maps. This saves a KML file you can import into Google My Maps, with a folder for each day holding its numbered stops, that night's hotel, the day's route and any flights. Each stop also carries a link to that day's directions. For a quick look instead, Open in Google Maps opens the route directly.
Route video
From the same download menu, Route video records a 10 to 30 second clip of your trip drawing itself across the map, day by day, with the trip title and day captions. On phones it opens the share sheet so you can post it straight away. You can also save a Map image (PNG).
Tip: exports and route video are available on shared and public trip pages too, so the people you share with can make their own copy for their phones.
Share your next trip
Pick a trip, choose who should see it and send the link. Open My trips to start sharing.
